Ogun APC, opposition parties disagree over Amosun’s performance

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun
The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State on Monday lashed out at the leadership of the two major opposition parties, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party in the state.
The APC described the PDP and LP leaders as “bad losers who have decided to close their minds and eyes to the on going transformation being recorded by the Amosun administration in the state.”
But the PDP insisted that the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration lacked human face and had been corrupt in the execution of its urban renewal programme.

The opposition party said it stood by its constant criticisms of Amosun’s government.
The ruling party’s Publicity Secretary, Sola Lawal, argued that there was no difference between the PDP and LP as currently constituted in Ogun.
He accused the current leaders of the two opposition parties of being responsible for the alleged misrule experienced by the state between 2003 and 2011.
APC added that since the leaders of the two opposition parties failed to make positive impact in the lives of the people of the state while they held the reins of power, they were of the opinion that no other administration should be acknowledged as having recorded any success.
The APC described as “mischievous, misleading and myopic,” PDP and the LP leaders’ claim that the Amosun administration had performed below expectation, saying majority of the citizens of the state were happy that the infrastructural facilities, social services and welfare packages, which they never had the privilege of enjoying, were now being put in place by the present administration.

“We make bold to say that whether in the areas of security, infrastructural development, education, industrialisation, promotion of agriculture as a veritable source of employment for the people or institution of welfare programmes, among others, the Amosun administration has justified the mandate given to our party by the good people of our dear state,” the APC said.
The APC further said while it understood the frustration of the PDP and LP leaders, who instead of bringing development to the state while in power, resorted to foisting a culture of violence on the people. “These failed politicians”  should either bury their heads in shame or keep quiet as the people would no longer tolerate them.

“If these set of bad losers pretend as if they do not know the sanity and growth that we now witness in the education sector and they cannot see the infrastructural facilities which are daily springing up at their door steps, they should maintain their peace.”
But the PDP Publicity Secretary in the state, Waliu Oladipo, said in his reaction that the APC-led government had left so much to be desired in its administration of the state.
Oladipo said, “All the talk about being bad losers is no issue. We stand by what we have always said that the Amosun government has no human face. It talks of developmental projects. But we ask; at what cost,? Is the N260m pedestrian bridge part of the developmental projects? Or is it the one kilometre of road that the government is doing for over N2bn? Or the wanton destruction of people’s properties part of the projects they are talking about? So much for developmental projects.”
