Obasanjo’s letter to Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan and former President Olusegun Obasanjo
I cannot but agree in totality with Sabella Abide on his article titled Obasanjo was right. Nigeria is afflicted with so many ailments. I have read many commentaries over the 18-page letter by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to his estranged political godson, X-raying the GEJ’s clueless administration. I must say that I am disappointed with the sentiments being expressed by bread and butter Nigerians.

Sabella, does Nigeria have a future? Are we sure we are ever going to be free from the whims and caprices of greedy and selfish political elite? What is the way out? Nigeria cannot be compared with any of the developing economies in the world.  Nelson Mandela was celebrated all over the world as a true leader. Can anyone stand in comparison with the man who spent his early years in prison for the sake of his people? Even the self -acclaimed activists in the Niger Delta do not see the ineptitude  of one of their own who by God’s divine providence became the President .  Instead of calling themselves to a town hall meeting and baring their minds to GEJ, all they are interested in is for him to continue in office. To do what? The only reason they have is for them and their cronies to continue to enjoy bread and butter at the expense of the millions of Nigerians who live below poverty line. It is the shame of a country!
