Zesco United moved back to the top of the MTN/FAZ Super League after they defeated city rivals Forest Rangers 1 – 0 in a week 23 fixture played at Trade Fair Ground on Saturday.
Akalulubelwa Mwachiaba scored the lone goal to ensure Zesco reclaimed the top spot from Nkana who played out a 1 – 1 draw against reigning champions Zanaco.
The win means Zesco United lead the standings with 45 points, a point clear of Nkana in second.

Nkwazi 1 – 0 Green Buffaloes
Shadreck Mayembe’s 50th minute goal gave Nkwazi all three points as they defeated Green Buffaloes in the early kick-off of the day at Sun Set Stadium. The match was characterised by very little goal mouth action and Mayembe’s goal came against the run of play when he collected Stewart Chikandiwa’s cross from the left flank and unleashed a powerful shot from inside the box before Stephen Kabamba and Dennis Banda could close him down.
The win which follows Wednesday’s 2 -0 win over Forest Rangers ensured that Nkwazi moved out of the relegation zone on 27 points, a point clear of Napsa Stars who lost at Red Arrows and two points clear of Konkola Mine Poilce who play Kabwe Warriors on Sunday.

Zanaco 1 – 1 Nkana
Two early goals settled this top of the bill encounter at Sun Set Stadium. Mwela Sakala gave Zanaco the lead inside two minutes when he was left unmarked at the back post and headed in Henry Banda’s cross.
Five minutes later Donashano Malama pulled Nkana level after a good solo effort after he picked up a loose ball from Ronald Kampamba.
The result means Zanaco have 37 points and drop into 5th position from 23 matches while Nkana in second have 44 points from 21 matches.
Power Dynamos 1 – 1 Roan United

Lubambo Musonda’s goal was not enough to give Power Dynamos maximum points as his strke was cancelled out by Kabwe Chileshe’s goal for the two sides to share spoils.
Power had a chance to win the match but Maybin Chishimba failed to convert from the penalty spot. The penalty was won by Mathews Nkowani who was brought down in the area by a Roan United defender.
The result left Power Dynamos in 10th position on the standings with 28 points from 21 matches while Roan United remained seventh on the standings a position they could lose to Kabwe Warriors if the latter defeat Mine Police by a 6-0 scoreline on Sunday.
Nchanga Rangers 1 – 1 Lime Hotspurs
Bottom placed Lime Hotspurs came from behind to share spoils with third placed Nchanga Rangers at Nchanga Stadium. Felix Nyaende gave Nchanga the lead from the penalty spot but Brian Mwila salvaged a point for the visitors equalising against the run of play in the 90th minute for the two side to share spoils.
Nchanga in third have 40 points, five points adrift of leaders Zesco United having played a game less. Lime Hotspurs remain bottom of the table with 14 points on goal difference from Forest Rangers.
Napsa Stars 0 – 1 Red Arrows

Red Arrows leap-frogged Zanaco to move into 4th position with 38 points capitalising on Stanley Nshimbi’s lone goal to collect maximum points against Napsa Stars at Woodlands Stadium.
Following the loss Napsa Stars dropped from eleventh to twelfth position on the standings with 26 points from 22 matches.
