Pirates to leave for Congo on Friday

Orlando Pirates will likely leave for Congo on Friday morning as they prepare to face AC Leopards in their crucial African Champions League clash in Dolisie on Saturday.
The squad will travel from Johannesburg via charter flight, spending as little time as possible in the Congo, in contrast to their last away day in Egypt.

On that occasion the squad were advised to travel early to the conflict-ridden north African country and spent the best part of a week there, where they lost 2-1 to Zamalek in the cushy seaside resort town of Hurgada.
But with conditions likely to be less hospitable in Congo, the team will spend the week in training Johannesburg and fly in the day before the game.
Having decided to ditch commercial travel, they will also be able to return to South African on Sunday, giving them more time to prepare for the Absa Premiership clash against newly-promoted Polokwane City on Wednesday.

Victory for Pirates could take them into the semifinals of the competition for the first time since 2006.
