SuperSport viewers have another opportunity to watch high-class action at the famous Madison Square Garden this weekend.
Live coverage of the middleweight title fight between Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan and American Curtis Stevens will be broadcast on SuperSport 2.
Viewers can start watching the undercard action in New York at 3am (SA, CAT, GMT+2).
Golovkin, regarded as one of the best fighters, pound-for-pound, in the world, will defend his WBA and IBO middleweight titles in what should be an intriguing contest at the traditional home of boxing.
The champion, who won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, is undefeated after 27 professional fights.
Now based in Stuttgart, Germany, he impressed when he retained his belts by stopping Gabriel Rosado in the seventh round, and Nobuhiro Ishida and Matthew Macklin in the third earlier this year.
The 31-year-old Golovkin, an accurate and explosive puncher, is up against a dangerous challenger. Stevens, 28, has a record of 25-3, with 18 wins inside the distance.
He is a local favourite from Brownsville and his only defeats were against Marcus Primera, Andre Dirrell en Jesse Brinkly in fights that never rose to any heights.
His professional debut was in September 2004 and he is at No 13 on the WBA rankings list. So far this year he has beaten Elin Ayala, Derrick Findley and Saul Roman and he holds the NABA middleweight title.
Golovkin is technically the better fighter. He has a good jab and a powerful right, as well as the ability to make his opponent miss before countering with stinging shots. Stevens is shorter than the champion but does have a slight reach advantage.
UNDEFEATED HEAVYWEIGHTS CLASH
On the same card, two undefeated heavyweights are likely to provide much excitement. Mike Perez (19-0; 12) from Cuba faces Magomed Abdusalamov (18-0; 18) of Russia over ten rounds.
The 28-year-old Perez, who was an outstanding amateur, is a fast southpaw with good hand speed. Abdusalamov, 32, is much taller and heavier than Perez and has knockout power in his right hand.
