After helping Bayern Munich beat his former club Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, Mario Goetze admitted on Sunday that he understood the Dortmund fans' whistles of disapproval but said it wasn't pleasant.
"Of course it was not such a pleasant situation to be subbed in and then booed by the entire stadium," Goetze on Sunday told the club's own channel FCB.tv.
He said it was not easy dealing with the situation, or the match.
"We knew it was going to be a very, very difficult match. We knew that it was going to be a very, very emotional match," said the German international, who helped Bayern to a 3-0 victory with the first goal to open a seven-point lead over Dortmund on the table.
"We did a very, very good job as a team."
Goetze also talked about visiting with his former teammates in the Dortmund changing room after the match.
"Of course the players were disappointed. There are all good friends of mine. I played with them a long time. I think it was just right to do that," said the forward.
