Bayer's Sam doubtful for United clash

Football | Champions League

Germany winger Sidney Sam is doubtful for Bayer Leverkusen's Champions League clash at home to Manchester United on Wednesday after suffering a suspected torn thigh.
The 25-year-old limped off after just four minutes of Leverkusen's 1-0 Bundesliga win at Hertha Berlin on Saturday with striker Stefan Kiessling scoring the only goal.
"I don't know yet how long he will be out for, but you could see straight away that he couldn't run and something had gone (in his leg)," said Bayer coach Sami Hyypia.
Sam, who came off the bench for Germany in their 1-0 win over England at Wembley on Tuesday, will have an MRI scan on Sunday morning.
Leverkusen are second in Group A, just one point behind David Moyes' Premier League side.
