Gervinho out for two weeks

Football | Africa

AS Roma in-form winger Gervinho will be sidelined for at least two weeks with a hamstring pull, medical tests from the Italian side confirmed on Tuesday.
The Ivory Coast international was substituted during the Giallorossi’s 2-0 victory against Naples last weekend in Matchday 8 of the Serie A.
The former Arsenal player sustained the injury while on international assignment with the Elephants against Senegal in the World Cup playoff first leg earlier this month but was passed fit to return to the pitch after undergoing some treatment.

Roma said Gervihno needs adequate rest to totally recover or might worsen his situation.
Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi says he is hopeful the two-week layoff will not affect his participation in next month’s World Cup playoff return leg against the Teranga Lions in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Ivorians carried off the first leg 3-1 in Abidjan.
