Massimiliano Allegri admits he was disappointed with Mario Balotelli’s performance in AC Milan’s 3-2 defeat to Parma on Sunday.
The mercurial striker struggled to make
an impact as the home side focused their defensive efforts on
frustrating his involvement, with a yellow card for diving the sum total
of his efforts before he was withdrawn for Alessandro Matri shortly
after half-time.
Allegri concedes he was concerned the
former Manchester City man could have been sent off had his frustrations
boiled over prior to his substitution, and was left aggrieved at his
side’s “naive” approach to the game.
“In the first half we created little and conceded twice on the counter-attack,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
