All Bafana Bafana players preparing for the friendly international match against Morocco on Friday have arrived in Agadir except Russian-based defender Siyanda Xulu.
Xulu, who plays his club football in Russia, is the only player yet to arrive but was expected to arrive in the afternoon (Wednesday, 9 October) but will miss the squad’s first training session in the morning.
Meanwhile, Daylon Claasen, who plays his club football in Poland, was the first overseas-based player to team up with his teammates at the Al-Massira Airport in Agadir, Morocco upon arrival on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, the team was joined by Bongani Khumalo, Kgosi Ntlhe, Tokelo Rantie and Dean Furman (all from England), as well as Darren Keet, Anele Ngcongca and Ayanda Patosi (Belgium).
The Bafana Bafana team arrived in Agadir after a marathon flight that took them through Cairo, Egypt and Morocco’s economic hub city of Casablanca.
“The spirit is high and the boys are raring to go. This is the beginning of a new era,” said coach Gordon Igesund upon arrival at the final destination.
