Nigerians were this week involved in the most glamorous club football competition in the world, the Uefa Champions League as match day two games were decided on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was a good night for Ahmed Musa but Efe Ambrose came unstuck with Celtic as FC Barcelona delivered a professional master class at Celtic Park.
Chinedu Obasi remains on the sidelines while Fanendo Adi’s tough-talking came to naught as Real Madrid handed FC København a 4-0 defeat at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Michael Olaitan finally made his debut for Olympiacos and helped the Greeks win 3-0 in Belgium.
On a night of hugely contrasting fortunes for Nigerians, supersport.com now rounds up the best of the action.

Basel 0-1 Schalke 04 (St Jakob-Park)
Obasi was again overlooked as Julian Draxler’s effort gave the Germans three priceless points.
Obasi is yet to play a competitive game for Schalke this season.
Steaua Bucuresti 0-4 Chelsea (Arena Na?ionala)
John Obi Mikel was an unused substitute for Chelsea in the comfortable win against the Romanian champions.
Mikel replaced Marco Van Ginkel after 76 minutes on match day one as Chelsea lost 1-2 to Swiss side, FC Basel at Stamford Bridge.
Celtic 0-1 FC Barcelona (Celtic Park)
Efe Ambrose played the entire game as Celtic lost 0-1 at home to former champions, FC Barcelona.
The Nigerian also played for all 90 minutes on match day one in Celtic’s 0-2 reverse against AC Milan at the San Siro.
CSKA Moscow 3-2 Viktoria Plzen (Stadion Petrovskij )
Ahmed Musa was involved in two of the goals scored by CSKA Moscow in a dramatic game on Wednesday evening before his place was taken by the Brazilian, Vitinho after 89 minutes.
Musa played for 74 minutes for CSKA on match day one as the Army club went down 0-3 to champions, Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on September 17.
Real Madrid 4-0 FC København (Estadio Santiago Bernabeu)
Adi realised his childhood dream of playing against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu but it eventually turned out to be an evening to forget for the Nigerian as the Merengues romped to a 4-0 win.
Adi was thrown into the fray as a 66th minute replacement for Daniel Braaten.
Anderlecht 0-3 Olympiakos (Stade Constant Vanden Stock)
Olaitan enjoyed a brilliant evening with the Greek side as he played his part in a surprise 3-0 win over the Belgians.
Olaitan played for 57 minutes before he was replaced by Spaniard, David Fuster.
The 20-year-old was not listed as the Greeks lost 1-4 at home to PSG on match day one on September 17.
