Ahmed Musa impressed on Wednesday as he helped Russian club, CSKA Moscow record a 3- 2 victory over Viktoria Plzen on match day 2 of the UEFA Champions’ League.
The 20-year-old provided a brilliant assist for Zoran Tosic who scored CSKA’s opening goal in the 17th minute to level the scores after Plzen had shot into the lead in the 4th minute through Frantisek Rajtoral.
Musa was again involved in a decisive moment for the Russians’ third goal which was scored in rather comical fashion in the 78th minute.
The Nigerian attempted to find his teammate, Keisuke Honda with a brilliant through ball but Plzen’s Radim Rednik intercepted only for his back pass to evade goalkeeper, Matus Kozacic to temporally give CSKA a two goal cushion.

Three weeks ago, the former VVV Venlo winger had expressed his confidence that CSKA will progress to the knockout stages of the competition at the expense of one of either Manchester City or champions, Bayern Munich, the sides favoured by bookmakers to advance in Group D.
“Everybody believes that it will be Manchester City and Bayern Munich that will qualify from this group but football does not work like that. We have done our homework on the teams in our group and we will surprise a lot of people,” he exclusively told supersport.com.
Musa was eventually substituted in the 89th minute with the Brazilian, Vitinho taking his place.
The win by CSKA over the Czech champions gives CSKA Moscow three points from their first two group matches.
