Mafco ended leaders Kamuzu Barracks’ (KB) unbeaten eight-match TNM Super League run on Saturday when beating the fellow soldiers 4-2 at the Dedza Stadium in the Central Region District of Dedza.
In this second round game, Harvey Nkacha scored twice for the newly-crowned Carlsberg Cup champions, KB but it was not enough against the rampant Presidential Cup kings, Mafco.
The visitors cruised to victory with goals from Zasher M’nongoneza, Kalisto Kalinda, Mannase Chiyesa, Hassan Chapola and new recruit Welani Nyirenda.

KB still lead the 15-member top tier league with 30 points. KB could not be overtaken by second-placed Red Lions who drew 2-2 with Mponela United to remain on 29 points.
Fabiano Kapinde scored twice for the Central Region rookies Mponela whereas Boniface Kaulesi and Kelvin Katema leveled matters for the Zomba soldiers, the Lions.
Elsewhere, Mighty Wanderers remained third after playing out a barren draw with their bogey side Azam Tigers at Kalulu Stadium in Lower Shire.
Wanderers’ rivals Big Bullets also drew 0-0 with visiting Lilongwe side Civo United at a packed Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial capital, Blantyre. Wanderers also have 29 points.
In other games in Lilongwe, leading scorer Ishmael Thindwa netted his eighth of the season to help his Epac FC hold Blue Eagles 1-1. John Banda struck for Eagles.
In the Northern Region stadium of Mzuzu, Blantyre United second round perfect start continued after they defeated bottom-placed Mzuzu United 2-1 with Sparrow Msowoya and Tizgobele Kumwenda on the score sheet.
