World soccer football body, Fifa has authorized Uganda’s FA, Fufa, to provisionally license Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi.
Okwi is at loggerheads with his Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel, who he joined early this year from Tanzania’s Simba, over alleged contract breaches. The stand-off has seen Etoile refuse to release the player, who has absconded since June.
But in a letter dated September 4, Fufa submitted a formal request to Fifa for the delivery of an electronic International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to Federation Tunisienne de Football through the transfer matching system.

Earlier on, Okwi had also lodged an official claim against the Tunisian club before the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) for an alleged breach of contract.
Fifa later constituted a single judge of the players Status Committee, Mr. Geoff Thompson (England) to pursue the matter.
According to a circular from Fufa on Friday, the federation will immediately proceed to issue Okwi, who wants to join SC Villa, with a playing license for a period of six months.
