Nkana too strong for Warriors

Football | Zambia

Nkana have moved five points clear at the top of the MTN FAZ Super League after they recovered from a goal down to defeat Kabwe Warriors in a week 25 fixture played at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
This was the second defeat Warriors have suffered at home since the 1 -0 loss in March to Zesco United.
Musonda Mweuke opened the scoring for Warriors in the 5th minute but Nkana reorganised and responded through quick-fire goals from Jimmy Ndhlovu and Claude Bwalya in the 28th and 34th minutes respectively.
The result means Nkana have 51 points having played the same number of games (24) as their closest rivals Zesco United who have 46 points and host Green Buffaloes on Sunday.
Kabwe Warriors dropped into ninth position separated only by goal difference from Power Dynamos on 32 points.

Konkola Blades 1 – 2 Konkola Mine Police
Konkola Mine Police recorded their first win of the Chililabombwe derby as they ran out 2 – 1 winners over Konkola Blades at Nchanga Stadium.
Ronald Chibwe scored one of the fastest goals as he gave the away side the lead in the first minute fending off the challenge of Kelly Sichilya before he slotted the ball past Collins Chomba in goal for Blades.
Humphrey Maseneko equalised for the home side in the 24th minute but Stanley Chabala broke the deadlock five minutes after the break to give Mine Police all three points that took them out of the relegation into 12th position with 29 points.
Nkwazi 0 – 1 Lime Hotspurs
Lime Hotspurs recorded a second consecutive victory this season as they collected maximum points away to Nkwazi. Brian Chilando scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute.
Red Arrows 2 – 2 Forest Rangers
Red Arrows came from behind twice to share spoils with bottom placed Forest Rangers at Nkoloma Stadium.
Rangers scored their goals in each half through Morgan Kaoma and Friday Kabubi While Arrows scred through Daniel Sibanda and Shadreck Malambo.
The result leaves Arrows in 4th position on the standings with 41 points while Forest Rangers remain at the bottom with 17.
Napsa Stars 1 – 0 Roan United
A lone goal scored by Chisenga Lukombe was enough to give Napsa Stars all three points as they defeated Roan United at Sunset Stadium.
The win took Napsa Stars into eleventh position with 30 points with a game in hand. Roan United stayed in eighth position with 33 points.
Nchanga Rangers 0 – 0 Zanaco
The match between third placed Nchanga Rangers and reigning champions Zanaco in fifth was the top bill of the week but it ended in a disappointing goalless draw as both sides wasted chances in front of goal.
Alex Ng’onga wasted perhaps the most clear cut of chances when he skied his effort, going for power instead of accuracy from inside the box with an empty goal in front of him in the 70th minute.
Moses Phiri could have sealed a win for the visitors with three minutes remaining on the clock but he preferred to watch the ball roll on in front of him expecting it to hit the back of the net while he got ready to celebrate. The ball ended up narrowly missing the target.
