Buffaloes gore Konkola Blades

Football | Zambia

Green Buffaloes recovered from their defeat at the hands of Nkwazi a week ago to record a 2 – 0 win over Konkola Blades in a week 24 fixture played at Woodlands Stadium on Saturday.
Felix Sunzu and Percy Bilyoti both scored in the first half to give the home side all three points. The result means Buffaloes move into 6th position with 37 points.
Buffaloes coach Patrick Phiri was happy with the result.
“It is a good result for us because Blades have been the in-form team in the second round of the league. I am also happy because with this win we have recovered from the 1 – 0 loss we suffered last week,” Phiri said.
Zanaco 2 – 2 Napsa Stars

Reigning champions Zanaco threw away a comfortable 2 – 0 lead to draw 2-2 at home to Napsa Stars. Quick fire goals by Moses Phiri and Aubrey Funga on the half hour mark gave the home side the lead before Harry Milanzi and Martin Tembo restored parity for the two city rivals to share spoils.
The result means Zanaco remain in 5th position with 38 points while Napsa Stars stay in 12th position with 27 points.
Forest Rangers 1 – 1 Power Dynamos
Friday Kabubi rescued a point for Forest Rangers as he equalised from the penalty spot after Mathews Nkowani had given the visitors a 30th minute lead.
Power Dynamos were reduced to ten men when left-back Maybin Chishimba was adjudged to have knowingly handled the ball in the area by referee Wellington Kaoma.
Despite collecting a point, Rangers dropped to the bottom of the table with 16 points while Dynamos stayed in 10th place level on 32 points with Kabwe Warriors who have a better goal difference.
Lime Hotspurs 1 – 0 Kabwe Warriors
Kabwe Warriors trend of failing to win away from home continued as they lost 1 – 0 at relegation threatened Lime Hotspurs.
John Sikaumbwe scored the lone goal of the match that gave the home side maximum points to eventually move off the bottom of the standings with 17 points, ten points adrift of the safety zone.
Konkola Mine Police 1 – 1 Nkwazi
Konkola Mine Police came from behind to share spoils at home to Nkwazi. Top scorer Stewart Chikandiwa gave the visitors the lead on 33 minutes while Ronald Chibwe equalised a minute after the restart.
Roan United 0 – 0 Red Arrows
Roan United and Red Arrows settled for a goalless draw as the home side dominated play but failed to convert chances into goals.
The result means Arrows stay in 4th position with 40 points, five points adrift joint leaders Zesco United and Nkana and a point behind Nchanga Rangers in third.
Roan United maintain eighth position with 33 points.
