Football | Super Eagles
The Super Eagles camp had earlier come alive on Tuesday morning as majority of the expected players showed up and virtually all of them took part in training on Tuesday evening.
Efe Ambrose was one of the players who took part in training and the Celtic FC defender says there is no cause for alarm as the Super Eagles know fully well what is at stake.
"We know what we have to do against Ethiopia. They are a very slippery side and are an emerging force in African football.
"They were hard to break at the 2013 African Cup of Nations and we know them better now," he told supersport.com after the team's training session.
The former Kaduna United defender, who just signed a new deal at Scottish giants Celtic, insists the Super Eagles will not lose the match and expects Nigeria to go through after two legs.
"We cannot lose in Addis Ababa. We defeated them the last time we met. I believe they cannot beat us in Ethiopia.
"The players have resolved to go to Ethiopia and get a win. That is our goal for now and we urge Nigerians to support us all the way so that we can make them proud," he enthused.
Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi, also spoke after training, saying the team is taking shape but was unimpressed with the playing surface on the newly refurbished pitch of the National Stadium, Abuja.
"The pitch has issues and isn't just working for me right now.
"Looks like sharp sand was used to tune it. I'm sure when it rains the pitched will be water logged." Keshi said.
The Super Eagles will train in Abuja before leaving for Ethiopia on Friday for the all important clash.
