The 30-year-old Ivory Coast international, who is also the reigning African Footballer of the Year, is proud to be recognised as one of the best footballers in the world which he says is another reason to keep working hard in his career.
“It’s an honour, especially when you see the great number of good footballers Africa keeps producing,” Toure says. “And it’s a greater honour to represent the continent and join the list of the best footballers in the world.”
Toure was unveiled in the Kenyan capital Nairobi last week as goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme (Unep).
