Kalulushi earn valuable point

Football | Zambia

Kalulushi Modern Stars came from behind twice to hold league leaders Zesco United to a 2 – 2 draw at Nkana Stadium on Sunday.
Kalulushi fell behind in the 23rd minute to an own goal when Aaron Nonde deflected Jack Mwanza’s square pass into his own net.
However, Zesco’s lead was cancelled eight minutes later by Bellington Clarence who placed the ball beyond Lameck Nyangu from inside the box for the two sides to go at the break level.
The second half started with both sides searching for a winning goal but it was the away side that broke the deadlock with Jackson Mwanza making no mistake from inside the box in the 67th minute.

But Kalulushi did not sit back and were back level in the 73rd minute when Josephat Kasusu acrobatically turned in a throw in from the right flank despite being surrounded in the box by Zesco defenders.
Kalulushi Modern Stars coach Dick Ngwenya told fazfootball.com that his side played with confidence and did not give respect to Zesco.
“We are not different from Zesco United and there was no need to give them respect. At this level all teams are equal and I am happy with the result,” said Ngwenya.
The result means Zesco United lead the standings with 46 points, a point ahead of Nkana who play third placed Nchanga Rangers later.
Kalulushi Modern Stars stay in 14th position with 20 points.
