Kano Pillars centre-back, Ado Ali, is now expected to feature in Tuesday's clash with Enyimba at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.
It was initially believed that the defender will be unavailable for the game but officials of the Kano club say that Ali is eligible for the game after he was cleared by the league.
The Nigerian champions had thought that the ex-Sunshine Stars defender will miss the big clash with Enyimba after he got a yellow card from the game against Kaduna United.
Officials of Kano Pillars had believed that Ali would serve an additional suspension after he missed the Warri Wolves on September 22.
"We have clarified that Ado Ali will not be suspended for the match against Enyimba. He has only received just one yellow card in the game against Kaduna United and not two after serving a one-match ban against Warri Wolves which clears off one of his yellow cards," Kano Pillars spokesman, Idris Malikawa, explained to supersport.com.
Article 5.5(1) of the league rule states: "A player who receives two yellow cards at different matches during the competition shall automatically miss the next immediate match after the second caution."
Ali is now available and has been named among the provisional squad of Kano Pillars that travelled to Lokoja for their game against Enyimba.
